You know the phrase “six degrees of seperation”? You know how the world is so big, yet feels so small? Well this is one of those situations! Back in October I did a session at Brooklyn Bridge Park with Alex and David. Emily is a friend of Alex and happened to be visiting New York during their session and did her hair and makeup. Fast-forward to now, I reached out to Emily to see if her and Austin wanted to do a fun city session while I was in town for 24 hours. Luckily they were in town and I got to hang out for a few hours in downtown Chicago.
City sessions have become some of my favorite sessions to do. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good alpine lake/mountain session. Big cities allow me to get a little more creative. We can walk two blocks and have a whole different vibe then we did ten minutes prior. I also just love walking around big cities and seeing what they have to offer, and that’s kind of what we did in this session.
I originally planned on starting their session at a secret park I found with an amazing view of the skyline. Unfortunately, the park closed 30 minutes prior to their session. I quickly just walked around to find a new starting spot. Then we started walking towards the riverwalk and came upon another hidden gem, something I never would have found through Google maps. So what I’m trying to say is….I want to book more city sessions!! East coast to west coast and everything in between.
